The existence of a technology incubator is a very significant milestone in the annals of Sri Lankan Information Technology. The focus is helping start ups succeed. Technology Incubators are a vital resource for start up businesses and entrepreneurs as they provide infrastructure and value added services to companies wanting to get off the ground. By utilizing the services offered by ConceptNursery, new start up companies in the technology sector can reduce costs by about 70 percent as opposed to obtaining such services on a stand -alone basis.

Our expertise allows us to identify and refine internet business models and work with management to transform those ideas into commercial online success. We will support technology centric start ups, entrepreneurs, dot.com spin-offs of brick and mortar corporations as well as providing technical and management expertise to late stage companies.

The attraction to a start-up company would be the ability to deploy resources at a substantially lower cost compared to starting on their own. This concession is however not provided through a subsidy available to the incubator, but through shared resources. The incubator can provide early stage funding for IT companies and it seeks to achieve substantial long-term capital gains through a versified portfolio of equity investments in privately held companies where there is potential for significant growth in revenue and profitability. The incubator's focus will be on IT companies that have the potential to become a significant force in the market place and for companies that have and will continue to maintain a competitive advantage.

The concept of Technology Incubators allows communities and nations to grow and prosper. The incubator will grow and nourish IT start ups and prepare them for the real world. This will pave the way for local resident companies to access international markets without obstacles and also have access to international funding sources.
